Inflammation🧡🤍
Ive been making this for a loooong time and it’s definitely one of my most popular glycerites. I don’t think I’ve done an informational on it for quite some time so I figured now is as good as any!
This glycerite is crafted with a blend of Holy Basil (Rama, Krishna and Vana), Catsclaw, Turmeric, Ceylon Cinnamon, Chamomile, Cracked Black Pepper extracted in non gmo vegetable glycerin. It’s palatable and goes down easy and this extraction method extracts all of the water soluble compounds.
Inflammation has an important role in the body. Especially for acute circumstances like trauma. However, chronic inflammation wether it be from auto immune disorders or what have you can wreck havoc on the body and cause so many issues. The body starts attacking its own healthy tissues and this is when you start to see immune system disfunctions (Rheumatoid arthritis for example), neurodegenerative disorders, metabolic disorders (type 2 diabetes for example), and other systemic conditions like fatigue, joint pain, swelling and digestive issues.
This glycerite was not crafted to be a cure all, but more so to aid with the bodies inflammatory response and ease symptoms while you’re getting to the root cause.
Let’s meet the plants! 🌱
🌱Holy Basil- this is my FAVORITE anti inflammatory herb. Way higher up there on the list then even turmeric which seems to be the go to these days. Holy Basil is incredibly potent and helps to reduce swelling. It’s proven to inhibit inflammatory markers. Holy basil seems to have a special affinity in aiding with inflammatory conditions in the digestive tract, as well as conditions like arthritis. It’s also modulating in nature helping to modulate the bodies immune response. This is why I’ve included it in this remedy, but it’s also a wonderful adaptogen and a fantastic herb for respiratory health (you may have noticed it’s the main herb in the nourishment steam!)
🌱Catsclaw- This is my next favorite anti inflammatory herb. There are few quite as potent. It’s an herb thats been proven to aid with pain resulting from osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It’s one of the best analgesics as far as herbs go in my opinion. I’ve had so many folks have great results in using catsclaw for everything from gout to RA.
🌱Turmeric & Cracked Black Pepper- I think most folks are pretty familiar with turmeric and the role that pepper plays in aiding with the bioavailability. So I won’t dive too deep into this one.
🌱Ceylon Cinnamon- the active compound in Ceylon cinnamon is a strong but gentle anti inflammatory. I’ve found it to be an especially synergistic herb and works incredibly well paired with other anti inflammatory herbs that essentially amplify that action. This is probably the most studied up there with turmeric, as well as having a long cultural history medicinally too.
🌱Chamomile- this one isn’t often talked about, but you’ll see it in a lot of formulas for salves and what not aimed to soothe skin inflammation. This is because it actually has pretty significant anti inflammatory actions- both internally and topically. In fact, I think my favorite use for chamomile is for inflammatory conditions in the mouth (gums ect).
I could dive deeper and maybe I will next time, but I wanted to at least give a quick little break down on this OG tincture! 🧡🤍
